I was told that algae can be really good for a fish aquarium, and the fish would eat this algae whenever there's no other food around for them to eat. I do know that algae can also get a bit messy and make the water appear green and dirty but shouldn't sea snails and other algae eating creatures balance out the tank? let me know your thoughts below
I suppose it depends on your stock list. Oto cats, plecos, SAE, CAE, etc tend to munch around on algae. On the other hand, many species won’t touch it.
Plecos were always may favourite.
The first tank we setup when I was a child, we picked the fish - and then my mom said - choose an algae eater. The pleco quickly turned out to be my favourite fish in the aquarium. Just super chill and always fun to see where he was hiding.
